Life moves fast. Some days there’s barely enough time to manage your schedule let alone manage your budget. That’s where your Purpose Card can help. It is a reloadable card you can use everywhere Visa® debit cards are accepted.
Your Purpose Card is protected by Visa Zero Liability2. Plus, there’s no credit check3 and it’s FDIC–insured.2
How it works:
Step 1: Get a Purpose Card – Find a nearby location here. Bring enough cash or use our Check-to-Card service to cover the minimum $20 initial load amount. The store representative will help you activate it.
Step 2: Use your card – the Purpose Card is accepted anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted.
Step 3: Reload your card as often as you need with direct deposit or with cash at any of our 130,000 reload locations nationwide.
1$4.98 fee for each additional card. The Primary Cardholder is responsible for all fees and transaction costs incurred by the Secondary Cardholder. Secondary Cardholder must be at least 13 years of age and will be subject to ID verification. See Cardholder Agreement for details.
2Upon successful activation and registration of the Card Account, funds on deposit at MetaBank, Member FDIC, are insured up to $250,000. Coverage limit is subject to aggregation of all of Cardholder’s funds held on deposit at MetaBank. To minimize losses, Visa’s Zero Liability policies require Cardholder to notify NetSpend promptly of any loss of the Card or compromise of the Card Account. Other terms apply. For details, see the Cardholder Agreement.
3IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR OPENING A NEW CARD ACCOUNT: To help the federal government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, the USA PATRIOT Act requires all financial institutions and their third-party service providers to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens a Card Account. What this means for you: When you open a Card Account, we will ask for your name, street address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see a copy of your driver’s license or other identifying documents. In accordance with federal regulations, until it is activated and registered, a prepaid debit card is subject to an initial load limitation, may not be used for international transactions or account-to-account transfers, or be reloaded.
